Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a French/American student who has lived in 5 countries in 15 years. I am passionate about justice and advocacy for vulnerable members of society. Beyond my work as a Head of Communication for WIL (2019-2020) I also work closely in the field of migration and refugee rights and hope to pursue this field.
What motivated you to be a part of WIL?
I joined WIL because I was looking for an internship at the time and felt that I lacked profesional skills. Since then, I found a community, network and support system like no other. Moreover I’ve also gained numerous skills beyond the internship search.
What is a question (academic, personal, social, etc.) that you are currently trying to answer?
Whether you find your path or create it and where the balance lies?
What has been one of the most impactful experiences in your life?
I think one of the most impactful experiences I have had has been volunteering at an asylum shelter for 3 years. The stories I have learned from others and the numerous experiences I have had connecting with the children and communicating with them despite language and culture barriers has opened my eyes to the reality behind the media coverage.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I hope to be doing something for the betterment of the world. This sounds very cheesy but I hope that I commit to making my part in providing representation or justice for underserved people in some way. I also hope to have and continue to travel.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
To be bold and pursue every opportunity which sparks passion as these will guide me towards what I truly want to do.
What is one way you would like to help or offer support for other WIL members?
As of now I hope to give support as a board member by helping create a meaningful experience in the organization. I also aspire to provide tools which will serve my team beyond WIL. I would love to continue giving support after my time as a board member by always being open to conversation and providing resources and contacts in any manner I can.
