Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm 22 years old, I love literature and poetry, and I perform with slam poetry that I write whenever I get the chance. I'm a huge comedy fan and I love contemporary art
What motivated you to be a part of WIL?
Over the years I was privileged to witness how powerful women can be when they come together, and how important it is for us to pave the way for our own success. I want to be part of the movement that encourages more and more women to do so.
What is a question (academic, personal, social, etc.) that you are currently trying to answer?
I'm trying to understand how we can best use education systems and academia to foster real change.
What has been one of the most impactful experiences in your life?
When I was 16 years old, a slam poet performed very moving feminist pieces in my school. It was then that I understood how the art of crafting words could truly change people's perspectives.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Sometimes the base assumptions upon which we shape our behavior, are wrong.
What is one way you would like to help or offer support for other WIL members?
I would love to be able to offer personal or academic support to anyone who believes my experience could be beneficial for them.
